“Every human mind is fertile, but only for those kinds of seeds it is prepared for. What is important is to see which kind of seeds our mind is fertile for, and to prepare it to receive the seeds of love.” – Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements
As this day winds down to the sound of rain hitting the windowsill, I can’t help but reflect on everything that has happened this past 2016. At exactly this time last year, I was on my way to a New Years Eve wedding after work, in Tel Aviv, Israel, and it was also raining just as intensely.
Thoughts of the unknown started seeping through me on the drive to the venue, and I recall thinking, “2016, please be nice to me” – with the hope that the year would present itself with a bit of stability and just a dab of reassurance.
Little did I know or expect the rollercoaster ride that was waiting for me as the thought came to my head…

From taking on consulting gigs, to moving 8 apartments in 11 months, and relocating to Los Angeles, California – here I am today, sitting here on my balcony, taking in the smell of fresh air and the beautiful surroundings. Finally, this globetrotter has reached an emblem of stability.
2016 was the year of personal growth. It was the year of doubts, uncertainties, and facing fears and aspirations head-on. If there’s anything I learned from all the drastic changes in the short period of time, it’s the importance of stopping in your tracks and expressing gratitude for every moment and every encounter.
Sometimes, we meet people that teach us lessons and show us what is really important in life. Other times, we forget to treat our minds, bodies, and souls with a bit of compassion as we take on the world. With a few hours left until the New Year, 2017, I can only wish for the strength to continue persevering in the name of perseverance and accepting the fact that sometimes things just take a bit longer than expected, and it’s okay. Life is a marathon, not a sprint – we have to learn to slow down and live in the moment before it no longer exists.
To my family and friends all over the world – this New Year, 2017, may we achieve all the goals we set out for ourselves, take on new hobbies, feed our minds, and fill our hearts with an abundance of love and compassion. There are so many amazing things to look forward to this year and I am stoked at the thought of the surprises in store.
2017, I’m ready for you. Bring it on. Here’s to making dreams a REALITY.

P.s. I started writing this piece on the eve of December 31, 2016, when it was actually raining. Today, January 1, 2017, the sun is shining like never before. Today, I woke up with new energies and the resolution of leaving 2016 behind me. A new year means new adventures, aspirations, and a more evolved and experienced Me. Thank you G.d for this beautiful world. I cannot wait for what the New Year 2017 has in store.
P.p.s. Please excuse the technical difficulties I am experiencing with properly formatting this piece. (Damn technology).
